Unfortunately there is no option to toggle the icon for the wired headset in the newer Android versions. Here with the help of Nova Launcher we can fix it. Here is a pictorial guide for your reference.
Head to Google Play Store and download Nova Launcher
After installing the launcher open its widgets option by pressing and holding the home screen of your phone.
Then head to the Nova Launcher option.
Now press and hold the activity option and place it anywhere in your home screen. It will automatically open the menu inside it.
Then scroll down to the “System UI”.
Under the “System UI” now head to “System UI demo mode”.
Then click on the option “Status Bar”
Under “Status Bar” you will find all the options that includes “Wired Headset”.
You can also toggle any other options if you want.
