Bilateral Engagements
During a ceremonial welcome at the Presidential Palace in Luanda, Angola’s President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço greeted President Murmu, and the two leaders held delegation-level talks on deepening bilateral ties. Murmu emphasized that the partnership between India and Angola is founded on mutual trust, respect and a shared vision for the prosperity of their peoples. Press Information Bureau

Strategic Areas of Cooperation
In the discussions, several key areas emerged:
- Angola’s role in India’s energy security was underscored, with both sides agreeing to diversify trade and investment into sectors like technology, agriculture, health, defence and infrastructure. PIB
- Two MoUs were signed on-the-spot: one for cooperation in fisheries, aquaculture and marine resources, and another in consular affairs, marking tangible outcomes of the visit. PIB
- President Murmu welcomed Angola’s decision to join the International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) and the Global Biofuels Alliance (GBA), signalling closer environmental and sustainable-energy collaboration.
