There’s a strange weight to digital habits. You don’t notice it until something breaks.
For me, it was Reddit.
I had a streak — 356 days. Every single day, for nearly a year, I showed up. Sometimes just to scroll. Sometimes to read, post, laugh, or learn. It became part of my daily rhythm.

Then one morning, I opened the app and —
The fire icon was gone.
My streak had reset.
Back to zero. I have achieved all the streaks upto 300, and was about to complete the 365 streak. but ohh nooo!!!!
I skipped a day unknowingly. But when I saw “Streak: 0” where “356” used to be, it hit surprisingly hard.
I have earned a total Karma of 681 during these days by contributing my activities, yet to earn my first Gold.
It’s just a number. But that number carried effort. Habit. Consistency.
A quiet reminder that I had stuck to something for nearly a full year.

And then it was gone.

But here’s what I’ve learned:
- The streak isn’t the goal — showing up is.
- Numbers are satisfying, but they’re not the full story.
- A digital badge doesn’t represent your full dedication.
- It’s okay to feel bad about a loss, even a digital one — it means you cared.
I could let it frustrate me. Instead, I’m choosing to restart.
Not because I need the streak back — but because the habit still matters.
Here’s to a new Day 1.
Not just for Reddit, but for every habit I value beyond numbers. 🔥
